To enrich the cultural life of the residents of DaTong community, activate the atmosphere of the Lantern Festival, and show the elegant demeanor of the residents, nine volunteers of communist party member from the school of journalism and communication went to Datong community which was a practice base of the Communist Party of China on Mingquan Street in Wuhan and assisted in organizing the 6th party of the Lantern Festival. Theme of the gathering was that residents of Datong community enjoyed the Lantern Festival and went into a new era of happiness together.
The party mainly consisted of three parts. The first one was the residents’ talent show; The second was the competition of boiling soup; The third part was the interaction between the hosts and the residents. The talent show were nine programs, including solo dance, paper cutting, community song, and the speech from moving Jianghan character. Mei JingJing, from the club of caring and loving girls, brought a graceful and engaging solo dance named Pink Ink. Community worker Chen JinQiao, Yuan Meng and Luo JiaSheng brought the folk performance named The Lotus Boat, and their wonderful performance drew the audience laughter. The children from Bailing kindergarten showed Yu style boxing, covering the fisherman's net, the woodcutter's cutting wood and other wonderful fragments. “they are so cute, and I can't help taking pictures,” said the audience Chen.
The whole party was wonderful, one climax after another. And the performance was greeted with bursts of applause and a wave of cheers. In the second part of the party, the judges and the audience tasted the soup prepared in advance by ten competitors. “the fourth contestant Huang QuanMei's soup unexpectedly has a mother's taste,” a male judge sighed. After the party, the audience drank soup and guessed lantern riddle. The person who gave right answer of the lantern riddle could get the gift in the exchange area.
In interaction section, the audience was enthusiastic to answer questions including the core values of Chinese socialism, Chinese dream, the four consciousness and other related issues.
